A Few Things to Watch Out For

Whatever you do, don’t touch the glass with your bare hands. The oils from your skin create these tiny hotspots that’ll kill the lamp way before its time. Grab some lint-free gloves, or give it a quick wipe with isopropyl alcohol before you slide it into the reflector. Trust me on this.
Getting the Most Out of It
You’ll usually see these in PET blowing machines or powder coating lines. The magic here is that the short-wave output actually sinks into the material instead of just heating up the air around it. To keep things running smooth, keep your reflectors polished. If those aluminum mirrors get pitted or oxidized, you’re wasting energy and risking an overheat. Plus, make sure your power supply is steady. A sudden voltage spike can snap a filament in a heartbeat.
