Here is the basic deal: we take a tungsten filament, wrap it in high-purity quartz glass, and press it with halogen gas. Why bother with the gas? Because it stops the filament from evaporating too quickly. It keeps the lamp alive way longer than those old-school incandescent tubes that seem to burn out the moment you look at them. Getting the heat right The real magic happens when you balance the voltage and wattage. If you cram a lot of wattage into a small tube, you get an intense concentration of heat. It’s fast. Really fast. And that changes everything when you’re doing things like PET blowing or curing plastics. To make sure the glass doesn’t just shatter from the extreme temperature jump between the filament and the air, we’ve spent a lot of time dialing in the exact thickness of the quartz walls. Materials and the “plug-and-play” part We use quartz because it can take a beating from high heat without expanding or warping. As for the connectors, we stick with R7s and Sk15 bases. They’re basically drop-in replacements for most industrial heaters. We make sure the electrical contact is tight because loose connections lead to arcing—and that’s usually where these tubes fail. Unlike convection heaters that just warm up the air, these use radiation to hit your target material directly. Just a heads-up: these tubes getscary hot.
