Better IR Lamps for Krones and Sidel Blow Molders
If you’ve spent any time around a PET blower, you know the headache of uneven heat. One wrong spot and you’re dealing with thin walls or that annoying pearlescent haze. It’s a pain. That’s why we built our replacement lamps to fit exactly where the old ones were. Whether you’re running an old-school SBO or the newer Matrix series from Krones—or anything in the Sidel lineup—these just work.
The “Perfect Fit” Obsession
Here is the thing: in an oven rack, 2mm is a mile. If a lamp is slightly off, it won’t seat right. That leads to mechanical stress on the quartz or, worse, an arc-over. We don’t do “close enough.” We match the OEM length and diameter exactly. Plus, we use the same standard connectors, so you can plug them right into your existing wiring without having to mess around with the harnesses.
Heat That Actually Hits the Mark
We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating with constant rapid cycling. But the real secret is in the coating. We’ve tuned the infrared spectrum so the heat actually sinks into the PET preform wall instead of just scorching the surface. When you need speed, these high-wattage tubes deliver. You’ll hit that glass transition temperature faster, which keeps your cycle times tight. Just a heads-up: running these at full blast puts more pressure on your cooling system. If your fans are clogged with dust, those electrodes are going to overheat, and your lamps won’t last nearly as long. Keep those fans clean.
No Fuss, No Downtime
These are true drop-in replacements. You pull the dead tube, slide ours in, and lock it down. No adapter brackets. No custom wiring. No wasted hours during a maintenance window. We also make sure the wattage stays consistent from one end of the tube to the other. It stops those “hot spots” from forming, which means your preforms stay shaped exactly how they should be.
