Here’s the thing: heating the air is a waste of money. The trick is to stop heating the air entirely. That’s where short-wave IR lamps come in. Think of them like a flashlight, but with heat. Instead of warming up the room, the heat travels in a straight line and only hits the object in its path. The wood gets hot. The air around it stays cool. Your team stays comfortable. To make this work, you can’t just throw a lamp on a stand. We use reflectors and precise mounting to tighten that beam. It keeps the heat locked onto the workpiece. No more “oven effect”—just high, concentrated heat right where you need it to pull moisture out of the timber or set your adhesives faster. But look, it’s not a “set it and forget it” situation. Because the heat is so concentrated, it’s easy to go overboard. If the lamp is too close or the conveyor belt slows down, you’re going to scorch your wood. Nobody wants that.
